Take the Bull by the Horns đź¤

If you’ve ever ridden a mechanical bull, you quickly learn one thing: the only way to stay on is to counteract the force. When the bull bucks left, you shift right. When it drives forward, you lean back. You don’t fight it by going rigid, and you certainly don’t just hold on and hope for the best. You read it, react, and play offense.
Sound familiar?
Riding a bull market is no different. When the market dips, the instinct for many is to panic, sell, and brace for impact — essentially, to go down with the bull. But that’s exactly the wrong move. If you have a solid financial plan in place, a market downturn doesn’t have to mean a personal setback. You can shift your weight, stay balanced, and even find opportunities to play offense while others are holding on for dear life.
A financial plan isn’t just a document — it’s your grip on the rope. It’s what keeps you centered when the market bucks hard and everyone else is flying off.
To the Class of 2026 — congratulations!
You are stepping into a world full of volatility, opportunity, and yes, a few mechanical bulls. My hope for you is that you build your financial foundation early, so that when the market gets wild, you can take the bull by the horns.
Stay tuned as I hope to provide a financial plan anyone can follow!!
Full disclosure: I did fall off at the end — but only because I got bored.
Turns out the bull was set on “old people” mode. I’m choosing to take that as a win.
A huge shout-out to Bill Chappell and the team at Jamboree Entertainment for the ride and the memories. Worth every second. 🤙
