The Charles River was frozen.

I was running along the banks in Boston, leftover snow crunching under my feet.
Cold. Dry. But there was light.
I was there on a college tour with Caroline.
And something hit me mid-stride:
I sometimes feel frozen.
This is a turning point.
An ending, yes, but also a brand new beginning.
Previously, we attended a rehearsal for Cambridge Common Voices.
The energy in that room — voices blending, harmonies swelling — was electric.
The kids loved having Caroline there.
And watching her light up, I thought: this is what I want for her.
Not the safe path. Not the predictable one.
I want her to chase a creative life, pursue music
— even if it's full of risk and uncertainty, but also reward.
Because that's where the magic is.
College is still protected. Still safe.
But she'll find her people there.
The ones who challenge you. Inspire you.
As I write this, back in warm Atlanta,
I realize I'm still protected too.
Comfortable. Secure.
But out there — beyond the safety — is where the adventure lives.
So here's what I'm telling myself (and her):
Breathe.
Take the leap.
Do the work.
Create.
The universe rewards those who show up for the uncertain.
As I write this blog at 6:45 am this mornin',
I spent 2 hours writing out money stories I experienced as a kid and then later in life.
I plan to film and post during March, which is Women's History Month.
#givetogain .. is the theme.

Maybe the stories will light a spark in you!
