From Mystic, CT to The Market

22 years ago, my husband and I got engaged in Mystic, CT—so we came back for a quick trip before school starts.
Connecticut is stunning in the summer and fall, but I still remember those long, dark winters when we lived in Greenwich. I’d sometimes catch the 5:30pm train and it was already pitch black in the city.
Back then, as a portfolio manager at a hedge fund, I’d spend 8–10 hours of my weekend—sometimes while on vacation—writing up market views and position updates. The market doesn’t pause just because you’re on a break.
But here’s what I loved most:
the writing.
It forced me to slow down, think deeply, and find connections and patterns I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
That flow state? It’s magic.
Even now, I still write—on vacation and off—because reflection doesn’t stop either and finding flow in deep thoughts is the best reward when you hit post!
If you need some deep thoughts, please reach out!
